Worship Devotions

Where God dwells, He drives out the enemy- and you win the battle!

The Lord God Almighty loves the praise and worship His people. In fact, He sets Himself within praise and has made praise His dwelling place. This is huge news for anyone who desires more of God, who needs to hear from God, who needs to hide under the shadow of His wing. God is not hard to find. In fact, if you know where to look, there’s no mystery or confusion whatsoever- the Spirit of God lives within your worship, so what are you waiting for?

This kind of worship, where God dwells isn’t the kind you hum along to in your car. This isn’t the kind of worship where you show up on Sunday and stare straight ahead at the screen and move your mouth or limply clap your hands. This kind of worship isn’t contemporary Christian radio songs about God in relation to your struggles and needs. No. NO. This kind of worship, worship that wins, worship where God dwells, is battle worship. This is high praise. This is hands in the air, tears running down your face, voice cracking, bowing down, casting off restraint, spirit-led, thanksgiving-filled, sacrifice-of-praise, I’ll-do-anything-for-You type of worship. Get into that kind of worship, and BOOM. The Spirit of God is all over you, within you, flowing out of you and the enemy? He’s outta there.

This kind of worship, worship that wins, the kind of worship where God dwells, is battle worship…hands in the air, tears running down your face, voice cracking, bowing down, casting off restraint, spirit-led, thanksgiving-filled, sacrifice-of-praise, I’ll-do-anything-for-You type of worship.

Psalm 22:3 says exactly this: “You are holy, O You who inhabits the praises of Israel.” Psalm 76 notes that where He dwells, “…He broke the fiery arrows of the bow, the shield, the sword and the weapons of war.” As a Christian, you know that the weapons of your warfare are not carnal, nor of this earth, but are spiritual weapons, mighty through God, to rip down strongholds that are in you, around you and on you. (1 Corinthians 10:4) Get yourself into worship, the kind of worship that shows you mean business. Passionate, action-filled, physical worship and God will take care of the rest. Spiritually speaking, He will clean house- wipe out your enemies, His enemies and break every weapon formed against you.

Thought for today

What are you waiting for?Β Do you want to win or not? Stop looking around. People who win, the ones who walk in victory and have overcome the enemy are the ones who worship like they want to win. Yes, that will hurt. It might embarrass you in front of your friends and family. It might make everyone else uncomfortable. It might draw stares, frowns and disapproval. SO. WHAT?! Do you want to win this battle or not? Do you want the enemy to stop attacking you in the area of your struggle or not? Do you want to be set free or not? SO. WHAT. if everyone is looking at you! God is looking too! His presence holds a dynamic in your worship that you won’t find anywhere else. If you want to win, worship like you want to win.
