15 Ways the Right Hand of the Lord Shows His True Power

The right hand of the Lord is shown in the Word of God to be one of the mightiest aspects of God’s power on display. When God starts to mention bringing His right hand into the equation, nothing can withstand His power! Not enemies, not the forces of nature, not sin, not darkness, not spiritual oppression – nothing.

Sometimes you need a reminder of the sheer magnitude of the power of God, especially when you feel powerless. You worship an all-powerful God and it’s easy to forget the mind-boggling greatness of the Creator of the world who spoke all of life into existence when we’re in a weakened condition.

Just as powerful in your life is this: When you position yourself at the right hand of the Lord, He doesn’t just reveal His power through His right hand, but He reveals His power though you life in unique and personal ways. In your situations, fears and concerns, your needs. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous,” the Psalmist wrote. Why?

When we position ourselves at the right hand of the Lord, He doesn’t just reveal His power through His right hand, but He reveals His power though our lives

Because the power of God displayed in the lives of those who choose to live by His side is something worth shouting about. Hallelujah! “I shall not die, but I shall live and declare the works of the Lord!” That is a promise given to you, and you can stand on it when the Lord is truly your Shepherd.

The right hand of the Lord is a small aspect of His power, but there are two different functions – One is when He uses the power of His right hand. The other is when you place yourself at His right hand and He gives you that power!

Here’s how the Right Hand of the Lord Holds Onto You When You Draw Close

  • He keeps you next to Him by holding onto your right hand. (Psalm 73:23)
  • You’ll sit at His right hand until He makes your enemies your footstool. (Psalm 110:1)
  • For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, “Do not fear; I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:13)
  • The Lord is a protective shade at your right hand. (Psalm 121:5)

How to Recognize the Hand of God on Your Life

When Jesus healed the 10 lepers, as recounted in Luke 17, He wasn’t known yet as “Jesus, the Christ”, the Messiah, Emmanuel, God With Us by the world. He was simply Jesus of Nazareth, the carpenter’s son, a wise teacher, a man of some controversy who may or may not have magical powers to heal people.

No one really understood who He was or what He had come to do- not even His own disciples! So, it’s no wonder that when the 10 lepers were healed, nine of them didn’t even bother to say thank you. Was it rude? Not to their way of thinking- they didn’t associate the miracle with anything Jesus had done!

“…One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, ‘Rise and go; your faith has made you well.'” (Luke 17:15-19, NIV)

Because 9 of the lepers didn’t recognize that Jesus was the hand of God acting in their lives, they didn’t bother to worship Him or offer up a sacrifice of praise for what He had done because their hearts had not acknowledged Him as Lord.

Praise and worship are the gratitude of thanksgiving, honor, and acknowledgement that God deserves, but also they keep your mind, eyes, and heart fixed on Him. It is part of Satan’s strategy for your defeat that you disconnect the hand of God in your life from the everyday aspects of life you walk through because he knows that praise and worship are sources of spiritual strength in the life of a believer.

dont look back quote

In bad times, in good times, in seasons of plenty and seasons of lack – even when you have to use your own “human effort” to help yourself, God is worthy to be praised! The fact is that if it weren’t for God’s hand of mercy on your life, things would be much, MUCH worse:

  • He has never left you even in your darkest hours.
  • He fills your mind with ideas and creative thinking and strategies.
  • He gives you favor among the godless and those who live in darkness.
  • He paves a way for you in the wilderness.
  • He opens the doors of a soup kitchen.
  • He inspires a doctor to dig deeper.
  • He sends a Christian with a word in season for you.
  • He brings inward peace in the outward storms of life.

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ- run to worship Him and fall down at His feet, as the one leper did. So few people realize the hand of God at work and fail to thank Him because of that. Yet, “your faith has made you well…” as Jesus said.

How many things is the Lord working in your life that you forget to worship Him for, or simply don’t associate with His working because there were other components as well? YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH GIVING GOD THE GLORY.

Thought for today: Raise Your Hands to Praise the Right Hand of the Lord

There is a reason why the Lord sent a word to you today to stir your memory of who He is. So often believers spend more time telling God about their situation instead of telling their situation about God! You have the authority through Jesus Christ to speak words of life, faith, truth and love over the darkness and it must obey!

Your faith changes everything- Jesus said that. For every one person who is falling before the feet of Jesus in worship, there are “nine” others who fail to recognize His hand at work.

Take time to strengthen your faith in the mighty, matchless power of God and remind yourself of His awesome power. Don’t fret about what you can’t control.

  • His Word is alive- read it and stand on it! (Hebrews 4:12)
  • Pray and release control to Him. Invite His will into your situation. (Matt. 6:10)
  • His vital presence dwells in your praise- lift up your hands and worship the Lord! (Psalm 22:3)

If you believe God’s Word that your footsteps are ordered by the Lord (Psalm 37:23-24), then your life is not random or coincidental. Your life is intentional and deliberately blessed. NOT PROBLEM-FREE… BLESSED. Praise the Lord!
