"The Lord God has given me the tongue of the learned, that I may know how to sustain him who is weary with a word; He awakens me morning by morning; He awakens my ear to listen as the learned." ~Isaiah 50:4

Dear friend and brother/sister in Christ,

As a writer, I love the expression of the written word and my mind is often inundated with thoughts and ideas, Scriptures, storylines for novels, characters, Bible teachings, thought-provoking topics, probing questions and so much more! (Fun fact: I am currently working on a novel!) In 2019, my article, Get Back, Satan! 5 Tips for Using Scripture as Defense” was one of the top-viewed articles on Crosswalk.com!

As a Contributing Writer for Crosswalk.com, I get to expand on worship teachings, but I also write about other important topics of interest to the body of Christ. A lot of the writing I do for Crosswalk.com centers around questions that are submitted, issues I am wrestling with, prayer requests and ministry situations I’ve encountered as a Christian in ministry. Some articles address “hot topics” and touchy areas within Christianity while others are written from life experience or even from a revelation the Lord has brought me.

Below is a list of articles. Click on the picture to be taken to the article. I will add to this list each time another is published. As always, I welcome discussion, questions, comments and dialog from people with a genuine interest to learn and grow in Christ, which is my passion as well!

Blessings!

~Alicia

  1. I recently found your site, but from now on will be reading as many of your articles and posts as I can. I loved your post on Halloween. Your foundation of God’s Word says it best…why should those of the Light have anything to do with darkness? Would you consider tackling the crazy popularity of Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling phenomena and the “Christian” Yoga issue as well. “Christian” Yoga, in my thinking and research is an oxymoron. The basic reason of why Sarah Young began writing Jesus Calling (she needed more than God’s Word) should raise all kinds of red flags in Christian readers, yet it doesn’t. The proliferation of the books and other materials is troubling…ensnaring many clueless followers of Christ to possible New Age writing at best or demonic influence at worst. I like John MacArthur’s article title: “That’s Not Jesus Calling.” Your views on both would be of great interest! Thank you.

    1. Hi Linda, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I have never personally read anything by Sarah Young whatsoever, so I cannot comment on it with any real knowledge, but we know from Scripture that people share Jesus with personal agendas, misguided perspectives and also with genuine hearts and God knows the difference! What I will give you are the words of Paul in Philippians 1:15-18, “It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so out of love [the] former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble [but] what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.” As for Yoga, here is my very honest thoughts- NOTHING EVER can *make* me worship anything other than the Lord. Even some “poses” we do in worship are similar in appearance to yoga moves. Common stretches in exercise are the same. Am I doing yoga if I’m in worship and accidentally pose that way? Am I worshipping a false god because I bend down and touch my toes? Of course not! Sage is used in many witchcraft rituals, and yet it’s also got excellent antimicrobial properties. In Revelation, God said He gave us leaves as medicine for the healing of the nations. (Rev. 22:2) My point it, true “yoga” isn’t just the poses of one’s body – they are poses *in combination with* specific mindsets, meditations, focuses and spiritual attitudes. You cannot accidentally worship a false god by doing yoga, because worship is a heart attitude. 🙂 God bless you, friend!
