If you give thanks for anything, give thanks for THIS…

One of the most common reasons people don’t give tithes, offerings and alms, as the Word of God instructs, is because they don’t really believe that God will provide for them if they let go of the money they so desperately need. Some are willing to toss $5 in and then tell themselves its enough because it’s all they have. Am I right? I know that thought has crossed your mind because it has crossed minemore than once! However, what you misunderstand is the principle of supply.

When God supplies “seed” to you, your responsibility is to sow and to give thanks. 2 Corinthians 9:10 says that the Lord will “multiply your seed sownand increase the fruit of your righteousness.” When you sow in faith, not only will God multiple that seed you have to sow (which means you need to keep sowing!), but He will also increase the fruit that grows from that seed because of your righteous act! Oh, and it doesn’t stop there… “So you will be enriched in everything to all bountifulness,” Paul wrote. Paul got it. He understood the principle of supply- that God would supply for all your needs (Philippians 4:19), but you have the responsibility to sow. If you sow a little, then your resulting fruit will be skimpy. (2 Corinthians 9:6). Don’t blame God for that!

But it goes on… “…you will be enriched in everything to all bountifulness, which makes us give thanks to God,” Paul said. Your first responsibility in the principle of supply is to sow. The second is to give thanks. Paul said you “will be” – not that you are right now, in this moment. But who cares? That doesn’t remove your responsibility to worship God. Anyone can thank God when things go their way! In fact, worshipping God in thanks, in faith, that He will do what He said He would do it what proves your faith in Him.

Thought for today

No one should ever impress upon you to give more than God, Himself, asked you to give. However, if God asks, there is purpose in it and if you want the blessing that He has prepared for the act of obedience, then you will need to obey! Once you have been obedient to sow in faith, worship! Worship and don’t stop! Be faithful to minister to the Lord, and He will be faithful to you (Genesis 22:17). Will it hurt? Maybe. Will the enemy try to drag you into fear? Yes. Will you have opportunities to doubt, or see your situation grow even worse? You can count on it. WORSHIP. Worship is never, ever, ever, ever the wrong thing to do when you are standing in faith. In fact, it is always the exact right thing. Minister unto the Lord and He will give you every reason to give thanks for “being enriched in everything to all bountifulness”.
