Psalm 22:3 says that God inhabits the praise of His people. What does that mean? It means that the Lord moves His Holy Spirit’s presence into the midst of the place where His worship is taking place. When you worship, you minister unto Him from your heart of thanksgiving- that is the only purpose of worship. It’s true that He also ministers to His people in worship, but God’s ministry to His people is not the purpose of worship. Coming into worship seeking its byproducts is an incorrect mindset and will affect how you’re able to connect with God.
This is why many people struggle to sense God in worship- they are seeking the wrong things! Ministry unto the Lord is the sole, exclusive purpose of worship. God will pour out from His presence as we worship because He is faithful, but your only responsibility, especially when you need Him the most, is to minister unto Him- not seek ministry from Him.

When life is really rough, you might be tempted to worship in order to receive strength and grace to get through your difficulties. Instead, thankfully minister unto Him and don’t stop. Never, ever worship to receive from God. Will you receive? Yes, because He is always faithful, but never seek the byproducts of worship. Instead, worship! “Fullness of joy” among many other outflows you need right now are found in His presence. His miracle-working presence dwells within your grateful worship.
Worship is circular in nature. God designed it that way. In Genesis 22:17 the Lord says, “In blessing, I will bless you.” That word “blessing” is one of the 7 Hebrew words for praise: Barak. As you bless God and minister unto Him, He will minister to you. You don’t need to come into His presence seeking anything but to minister to Him, to connect with His Spirit and express thanksgiving.
Thought for today
“Whoever sacrifices a thank offering glorifies Me and makes a way.” (Psalm 50:23) God will make a way for you, He promised. He has everything you need to overcome and breakthrough. All you need is found under the glory of His presence. Minister to Him. He’s got the rest!
