Meditation Proclamation

The spoken word: What does God want for Christmas?

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." ~John 3:16-17

what does god want

Thought for today

We give our heart, soul and mind to so many things, but why does it feel like giving ourselves fully to God is such an undertaking? Is it because we think He’ll require too much? Or that we have to be “ready” or “good”? Or that we’ll have to give up things we hold dear, or even enjoy?

God sent Jesus without qualification, and without reservation, but not without expectation. God expected Jesus to pour out love, to heal, to challenge, to discipline, to reach, to pray, to restore, to exhort, to encourage, to sacrifice and to die. He expected you to simply accept the Truth. And because of that, we can give ourselves to Him fully without qualifications, and without reservations, and with the expectation of being lovingly embraced, welcomed, accepted and loved.

You’re good enough to be loved by God. Will you love Him in return? God doesn’t take from you. He only receives what you will willingly give, and in return He gives hope, provision, a vision and plan for your life, healing, restoration, strength, joy, peace, and a future with Him. Will you give Him YOU? You don’t have to be perfect. Just accept His Son, Jesus, as His Son, and your Savior. He’ll take care of the rest. <3
